Three virtuosos of classical music join their talents to make you vibrate with the sound of the greatest composers, as well as rare gems of the repertoire that have been unjustly forgotten by history.
Three cultures in harmony
The Susato Trio, founded in May 2022 by Belgian violinist Sarah Bayens, Filipino-American cellist Mikko Pablo and Ukrainian pianist Markiyan Popil, takes its name from Tielman Susato, a 16th-century composer and music publisher from Antwerp. Inspired by their illustrious namesake, the musicians aim to share music with a wide public by exploring both the major piano trio repertoire and lesser-known works.
The ensemble has received multiple prestigious awards — including first prize at the Generation Classique Competition (2022), first prize and the audience award at the Supernova Competition of the Klarafestival (2024), and recognition at the Premio Trio di Trieste (2024) — and is currently pursuing a master’s programme in chamber music at the European Chamber Music Academy, which brings together several European conservatories.
